Giclee (Iris)
The French word "giclee"
literally means "to sputter." The Iris ink jet printer and its proprietary
ink calibration system result in virtually continuous tone prints. The
combination of specially-formulated inks and a unique pre-print system
produces an unquestionably high-quality print. Unlike the more traditional
printmaking techniques which use pigments, Iris prints are made from dyes
with up to 30 times more longevity than their traditional counterparts.

Limited Edition Canvas Prints
To create the rich texture
of a Canvas print, the image is made as thin as possible by stripping away
all the backing paper. Only the paper's emulsion is bonded to the canvas. The
next step involves bonding the stripped emulsion onto the highest quality
artist canvas.Canvas prints are hermetically sealed with a protective and
environmentally safe invisible laminate.
In the final step, each print
is carefully stretched by hand, over Fredrix stretcher bars. This gives
the look and feel of a truly exquisite piece of art. You receive each piece
ready to frame. Due to the archival quality of the materials used, the
images will have the longevity to be passed down from generation to generation
Medium
Any particular material
used by an artist or the method in which the print is applied to the material.
Open Edition
The prints are not signed
and numbered; therefore they are an economical alternative to the limited
edition prints. Printed with the same quality standards as the limited
editions, these 8 " x 11" images come with an 11" x 14" double matt ready
for framing.
Artist Proof
A reproduction made from
a single master image
Remarque
A small sketch that an artist
paints or draws in the margin of a print, generally near his penciled signature.
The print is often an offset reproduction, but the artist's sketch, added
after the fact, is an original. Historically, a "remarque proof" was the
result of the artist's habit of trying the etching needle on the margin
of the copper plate. By the 19th century, however, marginal markings were
added intentionally to give the buyer an even more unique item. Remarques
are a bargain when available, since few artists do them; primarily because
they are time consuming.
